“Everything in Milan is a product, an investment or at least an opportunity to communicate something commodifiable. An exhibition, even this one, is no longer a way to get to know an artist or a place for intellectual exchange; now it is content.” (Piotr Niepsuj)

For C41 Gallery and BiM, Piotr Niepsuj explores the meaning of showing and exhibiting the artistic and creative product in the context of a branded city like Milan. “Showroom” is a temporary exhibition space in a temporary gallery, situated in an indefinite limbo between deconstruction and construction: a content within a content that is in a process of definition, or perhaps undetermined. On display are four “coffee tables”, designed by Niepsuj specifically for the exhibition. They attempt to be design, taking their cue from the works of Gae Aulenti or Maarten Van Severen. Inside, they reveal systems of photographs of the artist taken (daily) with his mobile phone. Photographs of the imperfect, of temporality and spontaneity, presented in a precise container designed to be right and beautiful. Niepsuj offers the public art products, but at the forefront is a critical look at the commodification of everything, including critical thinking.
