Grade Solomon is a Korean-American, fine art photographer currently based in Richmond, Virginia. His work explores the malleability of perception through conceptual landscapes and dreamlike portraits. His images feature mundane but captivating subject matter found throughout suburban & industrial America. Through his images, Grade creates his own depiction of reality rather than attempting to represent it. By taking inspiration from recurring dreams, distant memories, and emotional experiences such as love and loss, he lets the image itself guide the manipulation of color. A process he explains as, “I let the image pour into me and in return I pour myself into it. Letting the conversation of the photograph guide my choice in color.”

About Everything Else – words by Grade Solomon:

“Everything Else” is a collection of images I took throughout 2018 – early 2020. During this period I was heavily inspired by dream logic. It felt as though I could escape without having to delve too far from reality. The everyday became extraordinary, and once I saw the subject through a screen, it became a window into a reality I longed for.
