Mr. Armani played his hand on Thursday for his latest escapade at Emporio Armani, with a playing card-inspired collection titled All In. For fear of exhausting the card metaphors, we’ll move swiftly to the collection itself, which, unsurprisingly, centred on the four card motifs.

In true Armani style, there was no shortage of looks—96 to be precise—leaving plenty to be explored. Velvet played a central role, appearing in all forms: hats, gloves, ties, shorts, two-piece suits, hooded jackets. The options were endless.

The palette, too, reflected the theme, evolving from stony neutrals through classic navy, then black—of course, with a healthy dose of red shades thrown in the mix. All colours associated with a classic card deck.

It would be amiss to review this collection without mentioning the plethora of ways playing card motifs were stitched—quite literally—throughout. A bomber embellished with Armani-fied cards. A blood-red suit with a giant heart patch, a true Queen of Hearts moment. Leggings ornamented with clubs and spades. Diamond-shaped belt buckles. The closer you looked, the more you noticed the (card) suits interlaced in the details of so many pieces.

In essence, the collection was about fun and games—bold dressing for a bold woman. And Giorgio certainly played his ace this time.
