About ‘The Long Way Around‘ – words by David Egan:
The ability to explore in a random chaotic order is very appealing to me.
In 2012 I did as many have done and got in my car and drove across the country and made photographs. For weeks I ventured by myself west to east, north to south, south to east, and then back. I enjoy having some sense of knowing where I am but these journeys are very much about exploring the US, taking roads that are slower, meeting people that I wouldn’t without pushing past comfortable, seeing and searching the American landscape, and escaping.
I have now made multiple trips across the country and back and continue to make trips whenever I am able.
