About Somewhere White — words by Carlo Banfi:

“Do you feel it?”
“Feel what?”
“Nothing”
“So what?”
“There it is: Nothing, nothing as a standard: no sounds, no colors, everything is softened and filtered by this white strange thing”

Have you ever felt it? The feeling of being somewhere and everywhere at the same time, because there’s something that makes everything look and feel the same. Every characterization is deleted so nothing could be recognized as a precise and peculiar thing that gives you a reference to define a particular place.

Senses are altered: sounds muffled, everything’s fresh cold, smells of winter, tastes like watered down, everything’s overexposed.

I’m searching for details to get a glimpse of orientation, a hint about the place I am, but nothing. Even the shapes had been stolen, every angle is rounded, I got no perception of depth.

I give up myself to the snow, imagine to be somewhere everywhere, wherever had snowed today, or who knows when in time.
