Barrio 5: Breña unfolds as the second chapter of the biennial project Barrios De Lima, curated and viewed from a different perspective, a real yet editorial look through each of Lima’s 43 districts, seeking to capture small memories of Latin American culture.

In the smallest yet most vibrant district of Lima, Eliza walks through its narrow and bustling streets. Her presence becomes part of the artwork, observed by all as a seemingly out-of-place element in the neighborhood. Surrounded by people and in a lively neighborhood, she embodies that unique blend where the mestizaje of the past and present intertwine. This visual narrative celebrates Breña’s fusion of tradition and modernity, reflecting a new identity and a mix of cultures.

By disseminating these narratives through various publications in independent magazines, the project amplifies its impact, inviting a global audience to experience the beauty and complexity of Lima’s cultural landscape. It fosters intercultural dialogue and appreciation, bridging distances and fostering connections through shared stories and experiences.
